Alabama is expected to be one of the first states to come out of the recession, with recovery expected in the first quarter of 2010. The early recovery is attributed in large part to Alabama not having fallen victim to the excessive inflation of housing values before the market crash.
If that is the case, then areas of the state like Baldwin County (where oceanfront property did skyrocket to prices far above actual value) may lag behind the rest of the state in recovery.
